iPhone 11 Design

Apple has played very cleverly with the iPhone 11’s design. It has not made any significant changes from its predecessor, iPhone XR. The iPhone 11 continues to have the same weight and form factor. Moreover, its size is right between two of its bigger variants, iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. The 6.1-inch display fits nicely in your hand. Plus, it is neither too bulky nor too compact.

The front of the iPhone 11 comes with a notch and promises to provide the toughest possible glass until now. And not just the front. This tough glass also protects its back so that you don’t scratch the screen if you drop your phone accidentally. Apart from the glass front and back, the 100 percent recycled aluminum frame makes the phone sturdy.

One notable difference in the design from iPhone XR is the rear-camera module. The iPhone 11 sports a square-shaped cutout on its top-left corner where the dual cameras sit on a matte-finish glass. It not only makes the iPhone 11 look different from its previous models but also gives it a premium-finish, something that many other phones are trying to copy these days. The circular camera sensors are pretty big compared to previous models.

Also, the iPhone 11 has stereo speakers and also an additional bottom speaker for better call clarity. The Dolby sounds make your loudspeaker experience unbelievable. However, it doesn’t come with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Therefore, you may have to invest in those expensive Apple airpods if you want to listen to music on the go.

iPhone 11 Display

Again, Apple has cleverly managed its display section by providing an LCD screen in its iPhone 11 model. The higher variants like iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max come with OLED displays. But again, you are paying significantly lesser than those models. The resolution of iPhone 11’s display sits at 1792 x 828. Although many may complain about this resolution, you will not understand too much difference because of the screen’s excellent color management.

If you are not one of those who goes into the details of screen pixels and LCD vs. OLED features, the iPhone 11 with less than 1080p resolution will provide a satisfactory experience while surfing photos or watching high-resolution videos. The brightness and contrast levels are excellent in this phone. The blacks seem crisp, giving the videos a sharper look. The warmer tone also provides a better viewing experience.

One downside of the iPhone 11’s display is it doesn’t support HDR videos. However, the texts and videos appear sharp unless you really want to squint and watch the videos close to your eyes.

iPhone 11 Software and Performance

The iPhone 11 comes with the all-new A13 Bionic chipset, the fastest chipset from Apple until now. It offers a blazing-fast experience, irrespective of the app you open. Whether you are playing Pubg or handling multiple apps together, there is no sign of lag any time. The A13 Bionic chipset accompanies 7nm-based processor. Apple claims that this is the only processor that provides the fastest GPU and CPU performance.

You will feel like a knife cutting through soft butter while using iPhone 11. App launching, browsing social media apps, running games, and taking photos – everything seems like child’s play to this processor.

The iPhone 11 has the latest operating system, iOS 13. However, by the time you buy and boot it for the first time, the phone will notify you to upgrade to its more stable version, iOS 13.1.2. Make sure you upgrade to the latest operating system before using the phone. This latest version provides a system-wide dark mode. This looks super-cool on the LCD screen as it makes your phone pitch-black.

The iOS 13.1.2 offers glitch-free and smooth experience every single time. You also get a “Sign in with Apple” popup the moment you start your phone. Log in immediately. It will use your Touch ID or Face ID and combine it with your Apple ID so that you can securely log into your private apps quickly.

iPhone 11 Camera

This is where the iPhone 11 leaves its predecessor behind by miles. The iPhone 11 comes with a dual 12 MP camera with a standard lens and an ultra wide-angle lens. Apart from adding the secondary camera, Apple has also provided a dedicated Night Mode. This means you don’t have to stay satisfied with slightly blurry images at night. Instead, you can use the Night Mode to take crisp pictures even in low-light environments.

The rear camera automatically adjusts its shutter speed according to the lighting conditions. Although Apple introduced its Night Mode quite late compared to other phones, it has definitely done its homework right. The Night Mode works flawlessly in different lights and even recognises your face in pitch-dark conditions.

Photos in the iPhone 11 look far better than its predecessors. Again, the screen’s pixel management is excellent. Photos not only look clearer and brighter but also have impressive color reproduction with lower noise levels than before. However, the Night Mode only works for the standard camera and the wide-angle sensor.

Apart from crisp pictures at night, the iPhone 11 takes mind-blowing photos during daytime. The color reproduction is the best so far among all the iPhone models until now. Both the rear and front camera takes excellent photos both in the wide-angle mode and bokeh mode.

iPhone 11 Review: Final verdict

The iPhone 11 is by far one of the best iPhones ever. It balances the performance, design, camera, and display flawlessly. If you have waited to buy an iPhone for years, go for iPhone 11 now.
